Alerts and alarms in the Food Retail app

The Food Retail platform continuously monitors sensor data and operational conditions to identify situations that may impact food safety, equipment performance, or site operations.

When configured conditions are detected, the platform can generate alarms and notifications to help users respond quickly.

Alarm severity levels

Food Retail uses different alarm levels to indicate the severity of an issue.

In general:

  • Warning alarms indicate a developing issue that may require attention.

  • Critical alarms indicate a higher-risk situation that requires more urgent action.

The exact thresholds and timing depend on the customer's configured alarm settings.

Notification channels

Depending on the configuration, notifications may be delivered through:

  • Email

  • Mobile push notifications

  • WhatsApp

Notification behavior may vary depending on alarm severity, escalation rules, and the user's assigned role.

Why do some alarms not generate notifications?

Not every alarm immediately triggers a notification. The platform uses escalation logic to reduce alert fatigue and ensure attention is focused on the most important events. Lower-severity warning levels may not always generate user notifications depending on the configured rules.
