Activate Track app on your device

When you first install Track app you will need to authenticate it to ensure your device is set up correctly and that you have Bluetooth access to the correct hardware.

Before starting

  • Download and install the latest version of Track app from Google Play or Apple App
  • Ask your user manager for a unique activation code to allow you to log into Track app.

NOTE: Your activation code is unique to you, and should NEVER be shared with anyone else, as it determines your settings, and which database you will connect to. The same code will give you access to all the AoFrio SCS apps you are authorised to use.

 Authenticate your app

  1. Open Track app on your device, tap Always Allow to let SCS Connect Track access your location.
  2. Tap Allow to enable notifications and alerts (See image on right).
  3. Enter your unique Activation Code.

Congratulations! Your Track app connection is LIVE. The app is ready to scan AoFrio hardware “passively” and collect data with no need to even take the phone out of your pocket.

It simply runs in the background, scanning every 3 minutes (although you can adjust this to your preference). When a cooler is detected, it will connect and download the data from it into the phone. The phone will store this data until an internet connection is
available and then upload the data to the Cloud.

NOTE: You can check previous scanning activity and downloads on the Track app by selecting the Log option in the menu.

Set up your initial permissions

The way you choose to initially configure permissions is important to the way the Track app interacts with coolers. We recommend the following steps to ensure easy use of the app:

  1. Once you have successfully activated your access to Track app, you should see a pop-up message, "Please select YES or ALLOW to the next dialog boxes to ensure the correct application of SCS Track." Tap OK to continue.
  2. You should now see a pop-up message with the title "Let app always run in background?".

We recommend that you tap ALLOW. This means Track app can connect with coolers
without your further interaction. If you tap DENY you will only be able to scan for coolers
       when you open the app.

  3.  If you have tapped ALLOW, you will now be prompted with a question "Allow SCS Connect
Track to access this device's location". You can choose between three options:

    • ALLOW ALL THE TIME which means the app can function without your further interaction. We recommend this option as the quickest way to connect with coolers and upload data.

    • ONLY WHILE USING THE APP which means that the Track app will not function while closed. You will need to open it at a location where there are coolers to find and upload data. It will also need to remain open while uploading is taking place.

    • DENY which means that Track app will be inactive and not look for coolers, even when open. You will see a "Permission Error" message each time you close and reopen the app to alert you to the inactive state of the app.

Note: Permissions settings can always be changed later within the app. Tap Settings, then Apps & Notifications to adjust your permissions.

Additional permission setup details for iOS devices

In certain iOS versions, location permissions may be staged over several days. We recommend that you select ALWAYS ALLOW when prompted by the question "Allow SCS Connect Track to access your location?" for the quickest tracking and data upload.

If you tap any of the other options, ALLOW ONCE, ONLY WHILE USING APP, or DON'T ALLOW, you will receive occasional prompts to confirm this is still your preference. The app will not automatically look for and connect to coolers meaning you will need to open the app each time you are near a cooler.
