# How iQ supports asset recovery investigations
## One of the most powerful aspects of AoFrio iQ is that the platform doesn't stop monitoring a cooler simply because it has been marked Missing or Lost. Connected hardware continues to report, and iQ surfaces that data for your team to act on.
Here are key functions within iQ that support asset recovery:
**Found / Opportunity to Recover -** The **Found / Opportunity to Recover** segment within iQ tells you about coolers still flagged Missing or Lost that have nevertheless been detected in the field — these are recoverable assets. **Found** counts coolers in a Missing or Lost status that were detected at any point in the selected period. **Opportunity to Recover** is the subset detected in the last 30 days, so the position is still current enough to send someone to.
**Assets Found -** The **Assets Found** segment within iQ provides weekly snapshots of coolers in a Lost or Missing status that were detected within the last 30 days, split by which status they hold. This list has a shelf life — dispatch while the position is current. Once you update the status the cooler re-enters your fleet counts and scores.
**Automated Movement Alerts -** Automated location-based alerts are movement-triggered notifications that automatically generate and dispatch an email alert for assets identified in a location that differs from their designated known location (outlet or address). Dispatched emails contain an embedded URL taking the recipient directly to the asset's individual page within iQ, allowing managers to rapidly action and locate displaced equipment.
**Location Investigation -** When viewing a specific asset, the map view for each asset clearly surfaces key location details needed to quickly act on incorrect placements, including indicators for:
- expected location address
- last known location address
- date of the last known location
- distance between the last known location and the outlet's install location.
**Remote Disable -** AoFrio iQ alerts you if coolers are stolen or misplaced. If required, you can use the **remote disable function** to help with ongoing misuse and to promote recovery of disabled assets. This means that even if a cooler cannot be immediately recovered physically, fleet managers can take action remotely to protect the asset.
