Transition Mode parameters for the SCS Controller

The Transition Modes are used to minimize Pulldown times. Transitional set point temperatures are used that are in between the Operational Setpoint and full Standby Setpoint.

Transition Modes may be most useful if the retail outlet opening hours vary, or if customer demand varies, such that a regular Pulldown time is uncertain.

There are three Transition Modes. The digital display changes for each setting (eg Transition 1 Mode = L1b, Transition 2 Mode = L2b, Transition 3 Mode = L3b) but the increments, units, range and default for each are the same.

In the tables below this number is represented by X eg tSX rather than tS1, tS2, or tS3.

How each transition setting works

  • Transition X Set Point - The temperature at which the Compressor will turn off when the system is running in Transition X Mode. Transition X Mode is the second step in the Standby process to conserve power during prolonged periods of inactivity.
  • Transition X Differential - The temperature above the Transition X Set Point (tSX) temperature, which will cause the Compressor to turn on when in Transition X Mode. The Compressor will remain on until the temperature reaches the Transition X Set Point (tSX) temperature. Turn On Temperature = tSX + tdX.
  • Inactivity Wait Time - Transition X - The maximum time permitted in Transition X Mode without any detected activity, before switching to full Standby Mode.
  • Light State Transition X Mode
    • Channel A - The illumination level during Transition X Mode of Channel A as a percentage of full illumination. Note: Light levels of between 0% and 100% are only available if Channel A is assigned to an LED output. If assigned to a digital output, then any level other than 0% will result in 100% illumination level.
    • Channel B - The illumination level during Transition X Mode of Channel B as a percentage of full illumination. Note: Light levels of between 0% and 100% are only available if Channel B is assigned to an LED output. If assigned to a digital output, then any level other than 0% will result in 100% illumination level. Only supported by HW: SCS Adv, SCS Adv No Display.
    • Channel C - The illumination level during Transition X Mode of Channel C as a percentage of full illumination. Note: Light levels of between 0% and 100% are only available if Channel C is assigned to an LED output. If assigned to a digital output, then any level other than 0% will result in 100% illumination level. Only supported by HW: SCS Adv, SCS Adv No Display.
    • Channel D - The illumination level during Transition X Mode of Channel D as a percentage of full illumination. Note: Light levels of between 0% and 100% are only available if Channel D is assigned to an LED output. If assigned to a digital output, then any level other than 0% will result in 100% illumination level. Only supported by HW: SCS Adv, SCS Adv No Display.
    • Channel E - The light state during Transition X Mode of Channel E. Only supported by HW: SCS Adv, SCS Adv No Display.
