Why is my cooler not updating location data even though it’s transmitting other metrics?

When we investigate a question like this – it often uncovers issues with either the Firmware version of the connected SCS Controller or the stability of the phone trying to connect to it.

Feature not visible or responding as expected in AoFrio software

If a feature or function is not working in the application, you are using – such as Field app - it could be that the firmware currently in the AoFrio device is not the latest version.

You can check the current firmware version and date of release here - Find the current firmware version for your SCS Controller. This may mean you need to perform an OTA firmware update for the feature before you look for the feature again in the software. 

Location tracking failures

If you can’t find the location of an SCS Controller or Gateway on your phone, this can happen for a number of reasons. As a starter, we recommend that you:

  • Confirm that GPS is enabled on your phone.
  • Check there isn’t a physical barrier at the location that may be blocking or interfering with your GPS signal – such as a concrete pillar or wall.
  • Try using an alternative method to tag the GPS location – such as entering the address manually in Field app.
  • Talk to the site manager to check that the cooler is not being switched off during the week - for example, overnight to save power or due to unplanned power supply interruptions. The SCS needs to be plugged-in to power to collect, record, and share information stored in its memory.

Phone issues such as battery drain and update delays

Check that your phone has an operating system (OS) and settings enabled that work with the AoFrio application you are using. See Running AoFrio software successfully.
