Why the 'Install Address' matters
Adding the installation address is one of the most important in the commissioning process because it puts your cooler on the map — literally.
The 'Install Address' is usually added at the factory during initial commissioning. If the final destination isn't known at that point, a service technician can add it in the field once the cooler has been delivered.
Once data has been uploaded to the AoFrio Cloud — via a Gateway, Field app, or Track app — the install address shows where the cooler can be found in the mapping feature, along with other details such as firmware version, event logs, and when it last synced with the Cloud.
Without an install address, the asset will appear in your fleet view in either the iQ platform or Report app without a location, and movement or relocation alerts will not work correctly.
This makes it difficult to confirm if your asset is where it should be and also makes it difficult for technicians to find and complete servicing.
AoFrio software — including Report app and the iQ platform — uses the install address in search and filter functions, making it easier to sort your fleet and plan inspections or sales calls.
How to add the 'Install Address'
Your team can add an installation address with Field app either at the factory when the asset is first commissioned or once the asset has been delivered to the outlet where it will be operational e.g. minimarket, restaurant.
Before you start, make sure location tracking is turned on your mobile device — this lets Field app use GPS to find and pin the cooler's exact position automatically.
-
Cold Drink Equipment - The install address for a Gateway and Network Pro come from the SCS Controller or Monitor it is paired with. To ensure the correct address appears in AoFrio software, add the install address when commissioning the SCS Controller or Monitor using Field app.
-
Food Retail - When a service technician starts a Food Retail installation task, they are guided through the outlet setup workflow - which includes the outlet address and device configuration for both the LoRaWAN Gateway and sensors. This is managed within the Technician view of the AoFrio iQ mobile app for Food Retail.
NOTE: If the install address was missed at installation, it can be updated later. In Report app, use the Incomplete addressing function under System to find and fix assets without a confirmed address. Address details can also be updated in the iQ platform via the asset details view.
