Check power use for a cooler

If you are visiting an operational cooler with an installed SCS Controller you can check the present power use, view alarms and events, make adjustments to related parameters, and compare with other settings.

Energy consumption data is not available for “-A” variants of the SCS Controller.

To view the present power use data for a cooler captured by the installed SCS Controller:
Step Details
1.
Connect to Field app and view the current RMS VOLTAGE under the icon displayed on the homepage.
RMS Power icon on Field app
2.
Tap the icon to see more detail including:
  • Current alarms
  • Sensor value – the present voltage
  • RMS Power - measures the average power of an alternating current (AC) signal.
  • RMS Current - is the root mean square (RMS) current or voltage of an alternating current (AC) that would produce the same amount of power as a direct current (DC) with the same value.
  • Minimum Start Compressor Voltage parameters – are the minimum Voltage during which the Compressor is allowed to start. If it is below this Voltage, then the Compressor cannot start. If the Voltage rises to an acceptable level, then the Compressor can start, but only after the Voltage has been maintained for a delay period.
  • Maximum Run / Star Compressor Voltage parameters – are the maximum Voltage at which the Compressor is allowed to start and run. After detecting an Over Voltage condition the Compressor is turned off. The minimum compressor off time must be exceeded before the compressor can turn back on.

3. (Optional) Edit the two parameter fields on this screen to adjust their settings.
4. (Optional) To compare current Average Power Consumption against other parameters active in the cooler during your visit, open the main site menu and tap STATISTICS
  •  Check the parameters on display.
  • Use the zoom buttons to see more detail at 30-minute intervals

View power use for the cooler over time and compare with other coolers in your fleet

If you have Report app, you can check power use over a selected date range for individual coolers and also compare their statistics with aggregated data for your whole fleet. Read more.
