Why the ‘Asset ID’ matters
The Asset ID is a key identifier that links your physical cooler to its digital record in AoFrio software.
Each cooler, controller, or device is assigned an Asset ID so it can be uniquely identified across your fleet. This ensures that all data — including temperature readings, events, firmware updates, and service history — is associated with the correct asset.
The Asset ID is typically added during commissioning, either at the factory or by a service technician in the field. Once assigned, it becomes the primary reference used to track and manage the asset in AoFrio systems.
NOTE: Please speak to your AoFrio Customer Success Manager if you are unsure how to identify the Asset ID for the assets in your fleet.
When data is uploaded to the AoFrio Cloud — via a Gateway, Field app, or Track app — the Asset ID is used to organize and display information in the iQ platform and Report app.
Without a valid Asset ID, an asset may still appear in your system, but it can be difficult to identify, manage, or distinguish from other devices. This increases the risk of confusion, especially in large fleets with many similar units. For example:
- Service technicians may struggle to confirm they are working on the correct cooler
- Event logs and performance data can be harder to interpret
- Reporting and analytics can become less reliable
AoFrio software — including the iQ platform and Report app — uses the Asset ID in search, filtering, and reporting functions. This makes it easier to locate specific assets, track performance, and manage servicing activities across your fleet.
How to add the ‘Asset ID’
Your team can add or confirm the Asset ID during commissioning using the Field app, either at the factory or once the asset has been delivered to its final location.
The method for adding the Asset ID depends on your setup and workflow.
Before you start, make sure you:
-
Have the correct Asset ID provided by your organization or customer
-
Verify the ID matches any physical label or barcode on the cooler, if applicable
-
Cold Drink Equipment - The Asset ID is typically assigned when commissioning the SCS Controller or Monitor. During setup in the Field app, enter or confirm the Asset ID to ensure it is correctly linked to the device and its associated Gateway or Network Pro.
-
Food Retail - When a service technician starts an installation task in the AoFrio iQ mobile app, they are guided through the setup workflow, which includes assigning or confirming the Asset ID alongside outlet details and device configuration. This ensures that each Gateway and sensor is correctly linked to the asset record.
Updating or correcting an Asset ID
If the Asset ID was entered incorrectly or missed during installation, it can be updated later.
-
In the Report app, locate the asset and update the Asset ID in the asset details or use system tools to identify incomplete or inconsistent records.
-
In the iQ platform, update the Asset ID directly from the asset details view.
