Why is a cooler defrost being blocked by ‘safety temp’ even when the evaporator probe is below the temperature I expect?

This type of question sometimes comes from Service Technicians who are trying to resolve an issue with a cooler where there seems to be a conflict between the alarms and the parameters.

The answer is often found in clearing the alarm or resetting the alarm threshold. See Alarm logic for coolers with installed SCS Controllers for more information about the alarm logic and actions you can take to resolve them. If you want to update a parameter, see the section about SCS Controller Parameters.

Sometimes there may also be a firmware logic conflict. You can check the current firmware version and date of release for the SCS Controller here - Find the current firmware version for your SCS Controller If it is not up-to-date, you may need to perform an OTA firmware update before you try to adjust parameters for the Controller or connected components.
