How the SCS 500 & 600 Controllers use microprocessors for firmware updates
The SCS 500 and 600 Controllers use SCS_OTA and SCS_DUAL firmware to update two microprocessors.
The two microprocessors inside the SCS 500 and 600 Controller are:
-
Hi-side micro - responsible for all voltage, power and current monitoring and S1 and S2 switching. The hi-side microprocessor can be updated by SCS_DUAL firmware but should only be used when controller is exposed to voltage related issues. This code wipes out all existing statistics from the controller.
-
Main micro - responsible for all control algorithms. The main micro microprocessor can be updated by SCS_OTA firmware which is considered to be a standard code and SCS_DUAL firmware which should only be used when controller is exposed to voltage related issues. This code wipes out all existing statistics from the controller.
The diagram below shows a basic representation of both microprocessors on SCS motherboard.
